Summer at the Rock Employee Information
Thank you so much for your interest in working at our summer camp. The number of hired staff varies depending on the number of campers we have each week. If we do not have a paid staff position available for you, please still feel free to volunteer your time and talents to help with God’s work with our elementary youth.
The hours of camp are from 9am to 3pm, with before and after care available. Camp staff is then NEEDED from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
Available paid positions for young adults (minimum wage established by the state of AZ):
1. Professor: at least 18 years of age (lead teacher of a class)—orange shirt
2. Teacher’s Assistant (TA): at least 14 years of age and entering high school (assistant teacher)—blue shirt
3. After care
As much as being on camp staff is a summer job, we hope it is a spiritual encouragement as well. We will be studying scripture throughout the summer to help all of us grow in God’s word.
All employees, paid or volunteer, are required to buy their own staff shirt that they will keep. Shirts will cost $5/piece and the color will represent the area of work that will be performed (colors are listed above with our middle school volunteers wearing green shirts). Lunch is left to each employee to either bring or buy.
Volunteers can be of any age, but ideally we would like to offer positions to our youth to help them learn leadership skills for the world ahead. We offer an intern position for the middle school age youth to help them learn these leadership skills.
All employees need to attend a mandatory training session at the church (TBD). Every Sunday of camp at 4pm we will be setting up for the week’s event, explaining the week’s Bible lessons, as well as doing a staff devotion. Please plan on attending.
Please apply online here and fill out all necessary paperwork for the position for which you are applying. Applications are due no later than Friday May 18.
Thank you for your interest in working at our camp and supporting the youth of our community!
