Opportunities to Get Connected
Evangelism: Equip Ascension members to be confident in articulating their faith to others.
Reach out to members and non-members so they may know Christ as their personal Savior.
Providing training sessions in evangelism for members.
Planning community seminars to attract outsiders.
Cancer support: Are you a person who is living with cancer, or are you a cancer survivor or family member willing to share your story? You’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the depths of emotions that you are feeling. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never before faced.
Divorcecare: Provide emotional support and education to people that have experienced (or are experiencing) separation or divorce.
Reach out to both the community and church member so they may learn to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding their lives.
Facilitate weekly sessions for members to view an educational DVD and provide a safe environment so participants may share their struggles with other class members.
Griefshare: GriefShare is a 13 week video-educational program developed by Church Initiative. It gives information about the grieving process within the framework of Biblical beliefs. Participants in GriefShare obtain an understanding of grief firsthand from people interviewed by the video leaders. The videos are down to earth and yet highly informative. On-site discussion after viewing the videos gives the participants a chance to digest the information within their own context of grief.

Care Facilities: This ministry takes the worship service in a brief format, along with the Gospel to people in various care facilities that are unable to attend a church service for various reasons. It allows them to participate in worship and hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ on a regular basis.
Jesus said, Go and make disciples of all nations, that includes all people in all places. Jesus also led by example of going to the people who were hurting, lonely, forgotten. These are people who in all reality are waiting out their last days here on this earth. We have a special opportunity to by the power of the Holy Spirit get them ready to spend eternity with Jesus.
We provide a modified divine service in the various venues of these care facilities and proclaim a short Gospel message. We expose the people to the Word and Sacrament ministry.
Visitations (shut ins & sick): Volunteers are assigned to visit members and guests who are hospitalized at one of the local hospitals or rehabilitation centers. Visitors offer a word of prayer and encouragement as well as making sure they are on the prayer list. To learn more, contact the church office by (EMAIL) or at (520) 297.3095.
They are times in life when our health prevents us from getting out of our homes. We have individuals who are willing to come to your home to meet with you and share God’s Word and the Sacrament of Holy Communion to strengthen you in life’s journey.
