Our Beliefs

Just before His ascension Jesus said, “You will be My witnesses.” (Acts 1:8 NIV). Jesus calls us to stay close to Him, stay close to each other, and to reach out. As believers in Christ, we strive to grow spiritually through worship and Bible study, by connecting with our church family, and by serving others. We love our weekend worship services, our care groups, and our beautiful school. As we grow in our faith in Jesus Christ, we will find plenty of opportunities to “connect all people to Jesus” and His love.

Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the true, inspired Word of God.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)

Godhead

We believe that God is Triune, three persons in one Divine Being: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)

Creator

We believe that in the beginning, God created all things.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

Prayer

We believe that prayer is an essential and powerful part of the Christian life.

“Pray continually.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Sin

We believe that humankind was created holy but fell into sin and that all people are sinners.

“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.” (Romans 5:12)

Holy Communion

We believe that in the Lord’s Supper, we receive Christ’s body and blood in, with, and under the bread and wine for the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our faith.

“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:26-28)

Baptism

We believe that in baptism God creates saving faith.

“Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’” (John 3:5)

Eternal Life

We believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life as God in the flesh and suffered the punishment for our sin by dying on the cross. We believe that on the third day Jesus rose from the dead and that we have forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Him.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

We believe that Christ is coming again to judge all people and that all those who have died will be raised from the dead on the Last Day. We believe that those who have truly believed in Christ will have eternal life in heaven, while those who do not believe will suffer eternal punishment in hell.

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:36)
